Edom can be a fun "day"
trip. It is located an hour and a half east of Dallas. If you are going to Canton, Edom is a must, just directly
east on Hiway 279. Getting
to Edom is easy. It is about 20 miles west of Tyler, 18 miles east of Canton, on FM 279.
HOW TO FIND Edom FROM : TYLER- Go west on Hwy 64. 2 miles past the airport, turn left on
FM 279. Drive about 10 miles to Edom.
DALLAS- Go east on I-20 past Canton to the Van/Edom exit (Exit 540), Turn
right on FM 314. It will stop in Edom. Take a right and there we are!
AUSTIN and SAN ANTONIO- Take I-35 north to
Waco.
WACO: Take Hwy 31 east to Athens. Continue on 31 to Brownsboro. Turn left (north) at the stoplight for FM 314.
Go to Edom and take a left to the Festival.
LONGVIEW and SHREVEPORT- Take I-20 west to Hwy 271 exit to Tyler. Turn
left on Hwy 271. At the next stop light, Loop 323, turn right. Travel the loop to Hwy 64 West, Turn right, go 2 miles past
the airport to FM 279 and turn left. Go about 10 miles to Edom. Also visit the
town of Ben Wheeler just 6 miles west of Edom, on FM 279. It is a beautifully revitalized town with
galleries and restaurants.
